I have to apologize for Friday. We had some technical difficulties. Rob’s scanner was not working properly. That stopped us from being able to get a strip up in time. We are back to normal now and should be posting on Wednesday.
Rob and I have both seen Thor and give it a thumbs up. It may not be the best movie to be released this summer, but it was a good start. It was funny, exciting and true to the comic. Not much more you can ask for. I am looking forward to Capt. America to get a comparison. Marvel is really gaining ground in the good movie department. For those that don’t know Marvel is it’s own production company, so things like “Daredevil” and “Ghost Rider” is not their fault. Not that they won’t ever make a bad movie, but it’s better to have the same people making decisions. That way if one franchise goes bad (looking at you Spiderman) you can fix the issues.
Don’t forget to check out our forum and be ready for “What A Waste Wednesdays”.

You HAD to bring up Ghost Rider…
Thor was great, and it had a bunch of little nods to the fans, which I always love. And for proof of everyone else’s inability to make these movies proper, I give you X-Men: First Class, which is also coming out this summer. There are only 2 things that make me kinda sorta possibly want to see it. Kevin Bacon playing Sebastian Shaw, and Banshee is in it. Everything else looks so slapped together, in proper Fox fashion. I say when Disney bought Marvel, They should have taken back their property rights, but still allowed those companies (Sony, Fox) to distribute.
I seem to remember talking to you on the phone after you saw Ghost Rider, Rob. And in typical fanboy fashion you lost your shot about it being awesome to the point that Steve, Josh, and I went to see it. At this point, based off your reaction here, I would call your endorsement false advertising and say you owe the 3 of us $9 each!
There are some movies that you should just know are trash. I know why Rob saw Ghost Rider. I know there was that two week period where he liked it (its a condition called Star Wars Prequelism). So anyone who took his word on the quality of a Nick Cage movies deserves to lose a lot more than $9.
I to this day have never seen Ghost Rider. I would much rather a full length movie on the PBS show Ghost Writer. Ghost Writer is a children’s show where a group of kids from Brooklyn solve neighbor hood crimes with the assistance of a ghost who would write ransom notes or some such tomfoolery. I shit you not, this existed.
again…NEVER liked it. NEVER!!! I was wicked PISSED at that movie, in so many ways…
I loved Ghost Writer!
it was NOT Ghost Rider that i gave a thumbs up to. at all. i nearly punched xXx for saying it was “ok” right after it.
