BOSTON COMIC CONVENTION
Part 2 of 2: The Artists
I’m not used to being a part of the attractions. It was interesting to be on the other side of the table. However, I couldn’t help but be amazed at all the talented artists that were at the show. I have to give a nod to a couple of artists. If any of them are at the next con you go to, be sure to stop by and support them.
Skottie Young. I’ve talked about him before. I can’t say enough good things about him. I have followed his work for a long time and he just keeps getting better. read his stuff. Do it now. Go Buy some stuff. || DeviantART: http://skottieyoung.deviantart.com/ ||
Renae De Liz. I’ve talked about her before as well. She is the wife of a friend of mine and she’s got enough talent to knock your socks off. She was a big part of putting together Womanthology, which showcases the talented women artists who are bringing style and class to the comic industry. || Twitter: @RenaeDeLiz ||
Ray Dillon. Ray is Renae’s husband and longtime friend. Technically he’s the reason I got caught up in this fool’s crusade to be in the comic industry (I owe him a huge thank you for that). He has been in the trenches fighting the good fight in the comic industry for a long time. It’s only a matter of time until he’s working regularly for a franchise title. I called it here first folks. Be on the lookout. || Twitter: @RayDillon || DeviantART: http://raydillon.deviantart.com/ ||
We sat next to a bunch of cool guys who, like us, are trying to make a dent in the cosmos (that is, the internet). So be sure to check out Hoodsie & Bob. We owe them thanks for being so cool as our troop of friends and well wishers came by and blocked their table. They took it well and with a sense of humor. We wish them the best.
OKAY, OKAY, OKAY. The man, the myth, the legend, Mr. Mark McKenna! First go here and help him out. Secondly, go here and ask to join. We owe, at least by my count, 70 likes on Facebook to his promotion of us. We will not soon forget his kindness.
Many other greats were there as well. Tim Sale, Mark Brooks, Chrissie Zullo, David Petersen, Phil Noto, and Mark Texeira, to name a few. Their work is great. It makes me want to work harder to get better. I have a lot of work to do, but when I get done with something new I might show it to you.
