Mixed Up Pt 1.

First off, and most importantly, Amber said YES! So congrats to Rob and Amber.

 

You are maybe wondering why today’s strip looks a little different.

 

Answer: I made this week’s strips (all but the first panel of today’s strip). I did it for Rob’s birthday. I wanted to give him a week off from drawing comics. I told him to pick a week that he would like to not have to worry about drawing. He picked this week.

 

Rob has very steadily put out three comics a week for almost two and a half years. We’ve had a few hiccups. Some were my fault, some his, and some out of our control. Still, we’ve been very reliable. He has worked hard to put out a strip consistently. He deserves a break.

 

Rob is taking a week off and you get the full force of my insanity. I hope everyone enjoys it.

Rob doesn’t want me to go overboard with how Zack is taking this whole Missy-Ben thing. I don’t want to go too far at Zack’s expense either. Being depressed about a girl can only go on in a comic for so long. We’re in the business of making people laugh.

Rob saw Ghost Rider. I got no report back. I’m sure there is a reason for that. Rob hears, “I told you so”  from me often enough. I’m sure he knew it was going to be bad. I enjoy few things in life, like kicking Rob when he’s down. However, in this case, I assume the pain of going to Ghost Rider was enough punishment.

We are working on some new things for the site. To the right of the blog, we added a place to “Like” us on Facebook. Go ahead and like us, so you can get updates when we post new strips. There will be more updates to the site next week, so stay tuned.

Thanks for Nothing

I’m thankful for my new phone. I just got my iphone in the mail today. It has been a long wait. I can finally talk to Rob for longer than 5 minutes without my phone dying.

 

Oh and we’re really thankful for the huge increase in support since the con. We’ve jumped up 14 people on Facebook alone. We’re always thankful for the family and friends that cheer us on every week. It’s been a rewarding November. We hope everyone has safe holiday travels and a good time with their families, Thanks again.

Edgar Origins Pt. 4

Edgar Origins Pt. 4

The plot has thickened like pea soup in January. Stay tuned for the conclusion of Edgar’s Origin this Friday.

 

Rob and briefly discussed how Edgar is my punchline release valve. See Rob and I decided many moons ago that we wanted the strip to be “Family-Friendly”. A decision that sometimes limits my natural inclination to  swear. It’s not that I mind, but edgar give me the chance to be a little more aggressive with the punchlines. Sometimes a mildly dirty punchline gets the point across. I think you can be funny without swearing, but it helps when you can tip-toe across the line every once and awhile.

 

If you go to Super Megafest this weekend be looking for the Five and Dime banner. I hear we will have a small army there to support us. I prefer to think of them as minions, but Rob doesn’t think I should start calling our friends minions. Especially when they help us out for free. (Don’t feel too bad for them. They are all riding our coat-tails hoping for us to be successful so they can have a job.) So I will go with “Henchmen”. So look for Rob and our henchmen to be promoting the good word.
