My wife and I just got hooked on “How I Met Your Mother.” It’s a good show. It’s not our favorite… that title still belongs to “Dexter.” We don’t have cable TV, so we use Netflix to watch TV shows. We’ve gone through many shows this way: “Better Off Ted,” “Arrested Development,” “The IT Crowd,” and “The League,” to name a few. It’s nice to be able to determine when and under what conditions we want to waste time. I wouldn’t want to rearrange my schedule just to catch a TV show on any given night. (like Rob and his “Wipeout” obsession).

I like where the Internet is taking television. I hope that technology speeds up so I can only pay for  the channels I want. I want anything with sports, cartoons, comedians, and FX.

*** FX  is worth noting exclusively because I love almost every show they have now. Seriously, have you seen “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” or “The League”? They are two of the funniest shows I’ve ever seen.***

P.S. My wife and I have thought about getting Hulu+ instead of Netflix, because we watch more TV shows than movies. It sounds like a good deal, but I’m not sure I can give up the great movies I can stream on Netflix. I don’t know what I would do if I couldn’t watch “Thankskilling” or “Time Rider: The Adventure of Lyle Swann.”
