First, happy birthday Rob.
I don’t know why we have given Flash such a nudist complex, except that nudity is funny. I’m not, nor have I ever been an exhibitionist. I believe in clothes.
In fact, I’m borderline never-nude:
“There are dozens of us.”
I don’t wear cutoffs. However, my socks are always on. For some reason , my sock-wearing drives Rob crazy. He accuses me of being a vampire.
“Once a vampire was discovered, it could be destroyed by cremation, cutting off its head, exposing it to sunlight or by driving a stake through its heart. Other superstitions told that a vampire could be destroyed by touching it with a crucifix, drenching it in holy water and garlic, stealing his left sock, filling it with stones and throwing it in a river, or using a “dhampir”, or a vampire’s child.” — The Encyclopedia Mythica
He is just being crazy. Of course, I’m not a vampire. I can go in the sun and I don’t suck blood. I just like my feet being warm. Is that so wrong?
I’m sure Flash will continue to expose more of himself than necessary. He’ll make up for my conservative clothes-wearing.
Scroll back up and look at that middle panel again. I’ll wait.
Back? That middle panel is better than I could have had envisioned when I wrote the script. I’m going to enjoy that panel for as long as Five and Dime is around.
My plate is really full right now, and Five and Dime is a big part of it. There will be some new things on the site by the end of this week. I hope everyone is prepared. In other news, I want to put the word out now that we will be at The Boston Comic Con this year. By “we” I mean both of us. Yes, I will be there too. I am flying up from Kansas to take part in the festivities. If you’re in the Boston area, be sure to visit us. I will remind everyone as time draws near, but the more advanced notice you have, the better. Everyone likes time to plan (this means the Ames boys will have plenty of notice to clear their schedule). Let the hype begin!

We missed Monday, but with good cause we spent the morning at the Bank and we now have a business account. Now we can do all sorts of fun things. We can now put ads on our pages, sell prints, sell merchandise, and many other good things. I guess we’re one step closer to making this whole “web-comic thing” work for us. We will placing ads on the site within the next week. If you are one of our faithful fans that check us two or three times a day and the site seems messed up, it’s because I am working on it. We’ll still be putting the strips up, but bear with us as we get it all figured out. We will be making a few more additions rolling out slowly over the next few weeks. Thanks again for all your support. Hopefully the upcoming year 2 of Five and Dime will be full of laughs, and adventure.
