*** This is not me making excuses. It was a funny way for me to discover that I may be a little over-loaded this semester. ***
I woke up at 6:30 and ate cereal. I wrote a script for the site and chatted a little with Rob. I watched the new Thundercats while drinking coffee. I showered, got dressed and headed to Salina to attend my classes. As I pull into the parking lot my phone beeps. I see the following text:
“Dude what the F**K?! You didn’t post yesterday?!”
Then these thoughts came springing to the forefront of my mind. “Why would I post yesterday? It was Tuesday. No, Greg, yesterday was Monday. Remember what classes you had yesterday? No, that couldn’t be, I would have posted. I even reminded myself about posting today, yesterday. But today is Tuesday, so that means… ”
It means here I am explaining how I completely lost track of what day it was. It’s only the second week of classes, folks. I’m not making excuses. I just forgot. I don’t know how, but I did. I am sorry that it happened I beg you to forgive me.

Storm is a waste. (Not the worst mutant, not by a long shot. Jubilee would take that crown.) Storm has been on the team since 1975. She was one of the first black comic characters and certainly one of the first black female characters. She has near limitless powers to control the weather. I’m not saying she should be out there stopping hurricanes. I believe too much tinkering with the weather would be bad for everyone. However, she could still go out and help those who need it. She could end a drought or hold off the rains so people could get away from floods. She could help crops grow in the desert. She’s content to fight for mutant rights by providing the smallest amount of aid possible. I’m just throwing this out there, but wouldn’t an entire culture be very grateful if you could save them from starvation? Maybe some people don’t like mutants because some of them could be saving MILLIONS of lives instead of thousands. She could be doing much more, but she married a king and lives in a palace. It’s true she has her people, but why she can’t give a little love around the globe, I’ll never know. It’d be like Batman letting a purse get snatched while he’s walking around as Bruce Wayne. I think I might have read this quote in a comic somewhere: “With GREAT power comes GREAT responsibility.” I think that statement becomes more important with the capacity of power you have. And if you can control the climate, I would say you have a lot of responsibility.
